I have old Hi-8 tapes that I want to edit in FCP. I have recorded from my Hi-8 camera onto the HVX tape (via s-video) and separately from HVX to FCP. But, I am told that I can go straight from Hi-8 camera through the HVX and on to the computer.
I play the tape and see it on the computer monitor but when I hit capture it just sits and waits saying, "Waiting for timecode" I tried actually recording from the Hi-8 to the DV during this. It begins to capture the video but stops and says, "You have reached the end of the tape" even though there is tape available on both decks. What step am I missing or is this even possible??
