Trouble exporting OMF 2.0 from FCP

Hi guys,

I am attempting to export an OMF 2.0 file from a FCP project. I'm running 6.0.5. When I get to the save dialog box, however, the OMF 2.0 drop down "format" menu is grayed out. I've exported the file and am able to import into Soundtrack Pro, but my sound mixer can't import it into his program (Nuendo). Any ideas?

Thanks!

Peter

How big is your sequence? How long? How many audio tracks? Are the tracks all fairly full?

There's a file size limit for OMF, and if you're project is too big, I don't think you'll be able to export.

For half-hour and hour-long TV shows (generally 22 and 44 minutes respectively) or for short films, a single reel is usually fine. But once you get into long-form docs and features, you ought to keep in 20-or-so-minute reels. This isn't just for the sake of OMF export, but because it keeps your sequences a lot more manageable as well.
