Trouble connecting HVX to FCP

Greetings all,

I need to capture a couple of Hours of HVX footage from the mini DV and FCP is not recognizing the camera when it starts up... Then when I go to capture it will jog and shuttle but nothing appears on the capture window and when I do a test capture it just runs and runs without locating the TC on the clips.


Any ideas or set-up that I'm supposed to be doing? Help one and all

ahhhh.. so it is missing the Apple Firewire NTSC driver... I'm gonna try and install FCP again and maybe the OS... Hope it works.. Never had this happen before.. It's also not the HVX as it's doing the same thing to my other DV cams....

But still any help would be appreciated
 
FCP 5.1 has a bug so I upgraded to 5.1.1 and it worked like a charm... Capturing DV right now.. Very nice looking image in DV.... and a good low-light DV camera.. as I'm used to my canon's which aren't that great in low-light..

Hey Justyn,

glad you got the problem sorted out.

You mentioned that it was "...a good low light DV camera." Would you say that the camera behaves differently when shooting DV versus HD in low light? I'd be very interested to see some of the DV footage.
