Trouble adusting backfocus on 500

Has anyone else found it difficult to adjust the backfocus on the 500? I have the standard Fuji kit lens, and use a DCS FiddleHeads/BackFocus (FHR) chart. I have also watched the video over at 2nd unit the describes how best to properly adjust the backfocus.

However I am still getting soft focus images at about 10 feet even with my Carrion HD monitor.

Anyway, I just wondered if anyone else was struggling with this.

Make sure you didn't move your macro adjuster. I had the same problem, then I found that the macro was on just a tiny bit. Other than that, back focusing is pretty easy with the back focus chart.

I have same lens Brad and find that in normal daytime temps, backfocus is always sopt on at the lenses standard set up. If my lens gets very hot or cold it may need a backfocus adjustment to compensate but other than that it wont need any alteration.

I just used the back focus chart in the back of lens manual. Not so flat though so I printed a high res back focus chart I found at http://www.bealecorner.org/red/test-patterns/star-chart-bars144-600dpi.png
