I read recently about pretty decent - sachtler quality no less- tripods, that are made in India. Any one have any idea who, and where and links etc.::dankk2:

amvona.com sells pretty good tripods made in china - I bought one (9903 series) offe bay for around $320 and am very happy with it. Their ebay auctions sell for 20-30% of their website prices.

Heard about amvona.com, but pretty damning stuff. If you are happy with them, then I'll check it out. The India bit I heard, had to so with a place they describe as the machine capital of india - Chardrigh ( I know I have misspelt that), meanwhile I'll check this site out.

The tripods from India wouldn't surprise me, I read somewhere they film more feature length films in India than any country in the world...
