well im certainly not knew to digital video, been my professional for 10 years. but i never used or bought a tripod before so i kno absolutely nothing about them. my current project i will be shooting on tripods. i went on b&h and theres so many tripods, now the question is. when i shop for a tripod. what do i have to look for? from what i see the dvx100 uses two screw pieces to mount the camera on the tripod top head piece. i read specs on a few different tripods ranges from 4-800 and there all different and they dont say if there compatible with any camcorder. i just need a standard tripod to hold the camera nothing fancy. so do i just look for the two screw parts on a tripod head? and that will work for the dvx100? or what are the standard specs i should look for when buying a tripod that will properly mount a dvx100b?

You've been shooting for ten years and never used a tripod?

haha that is funny. no i use steady cam or handheld for my work. never used a tripod cause im always moving, kinda pointless to stop, set up. stop, setup.

also, i didnt mean brand names, i just meant like what do i look forwhen i buy a tripod for the dvx? will any of them work as long as it has the two screw parts on the tripod head?

Fluid head, 2 stage, Weight (preference), Leg bend. Load ability of at least 6lbs (incase you add anything to your rig). Other than that if you like it, that is all that matters.
