This is a truly amazing set up. Perfect for a run and gun indy but high performance enough for full on broadcast work. I work as a DP and take immaculate care of my gear. I'm also a longstanding member here with a solid record of buying and selling gear at DVX User.
The Arrow 25 was truly a revelation as its true fluid modules create a smoothness that belies its price. It blows away anything in its price range and gives a Sachtler 18 or 20 a run for its money - at half the price.
The VJ legs are spreader less and great performers. They're two years old and in excellent condition. With three stages , they'll go from 8'7" to 6'2" obviating the need for a high hat and baby legs. Super light at 6.8 lbs, their carbon construction makes them some of the most rigid legs I've ever used. The spreader less design allows you to get these legs into the tightest and most difficult of spaces.
The legs can handle up to 66 lbs.
The head is rated from 7-30 lbs with four levels of counterbalance. It's in very good to excellent condition and I bought in Spring of 07. Pan/Tilt is true fluid module resistance with 6 settings from 0-5. The bubble level lights up with a push of a button. Using fluid modules instead of friction discs (Cartoni Focus, Gamma, Vinten, Manfrotto and lower end Sachtler) makes for a much smoother resistance curve. You'll notice the difference immediately, especially with telephoto work. The smoothness comes just shy of O'Connor like performance at 1/3 the price. Its top plate slides 4" for and aft making balance a breeze. Uses a standard Sachtler baseplate that'll take 1/2" or 1/4".
If you're looking to step up in the world of high performance tripods this is great buy. It works great with an HVX alone or with a fully outfitted 35mm adaptor rig. You can even use it for a lightweight RED rig. Its build will outlast at least two or three cameras.
Why am I selling? Well I'm buying a RED and need to go to something to handle payloads from 20-45lbs. So I'm getting the Miller's big brother, the Arrow 55.
