tripod legs?

i am looking to buy a set of tripod legs (bogen) are all the legs usable for all video heads. meaning if i buy a bogen tripod leg setup will i be able to use that with any video head on the market.

Many systems are cross compatible. But not all. Not sure where to find compatibility charts though.

It also depends on the type of head/legs. For example, a head with a bowl will not be compatible with legs with a center column (and legs with a bowl will not work with a flat base head) without an adaptor of some sort.
