Tripod Help - Bogen/Manfrotto 3130 head and 3001 legs - OK for DVX?

A local shop set me up with a Bogen/Manfrotto 3130 fluid head and 3001 legs a few years back. This setup was perfect for my light weight Panny GS400.

I'm wondering if this tripod system would work for the DVX? Will it provide adequate support and allow for decent pans?

I won't say you can't make it work, but if it were me, I'd start saving my pennies for something like a 503HDV head and some legs with a half-bowl attachment, perhaps like the 3181.
