Tripod Head Screws

Does anyone know what you call those three tiny screws (flat head) that hold your tripod head on? I have a manfrotto and lost a screw. I tried looking them up but am only finding screws that mount the camera (3/4).

They have various names, set screw, grub screw. Just take the tripod plate (or entire tripod) to a well equipped hardware store. Try out some metric bolts (way easier to handle). You just want to find the thread, so gently try a few metric bolts until one fits. Then look for the set screws, they're usually in slide-out drawers, and see if they have the same thread in a length that seems appropriate (you can screw a bolt in until it goes far enough, wrap some tape around it and unscrew, and there's your approximate length).

A big-box store (home depot, etc in the US) will be hit & miss - try a mom & pop hardware store (Ace in the US) and just ask for help - there are 2 or 3 Ace's I go to locally and every one of them is family-owned franchise where they give a sh*t about service and training. You'll get what you need and they'll know exactly where it is. EXCEPT...

Most tripod set screws take a small flat-blade screwdriver. Most metric set screws stocked at hardware stores take the appropriate Allen wrench - you may have to settle for that. But, you should always always always have a set of metric allens with ya (preferable the kind that folds up into a case so you don't lose one). A little canvas zippered tool bag is pretty priceless on set...

Thanks everyone. I have a 3021 with a 701 head. I looked up grub screws on BH, these look like what I need. If they aren't I'll check out a hardware store soon. Thanks again for your help.
