Hi, i heard that the slik spirit pro II tripod is a recommended tripod for travelling.

Can i put a manfrotto MVH500AH or a 502HD fluid head on it ?

Do you have other recommandations?

Thanks in advance,

Recommended by whom?

Slik tripods (it's Sprint Pro II, by the way) are photography tripods, not video, and generally cheap ones at that. Load bearing is low, and the included ball head is for still camera use. Yes, you can swap out tripod heads, but the mount on that tripod is 1/4"-20 while the two heads you mention require 3/8"-16. Plus, those two heads would push the load bearing of the tripod even without a camera.

What's your budget?

And when you mention a "travel" tripod, do you mean something that can be strapped to a backpack or tucked into a suitcase?

About 200$.

I thought of buying the Befree video tripod (manfrotto. the aluminium one sounds good. The carbon one is more expensive, not sure if it worths it.) along with a 701hd fluid hear or a 502HD fluid head.

What do you think ? Is this tripod any good ? WHich fluid head should i use ?

What would you suggest in the 300-700$ price range ?

I have no personal experience with the BeFree. Generally, carbon fiber (yes, it's more expensive) is both lighter weight and more sturdy/durable. If you can afford it, carbon fiber is better than aluminum.

There's just not much, especially for compact systems with decent fluid heads, in the <$200 range.

Rmember, too, that any of these compact systems sacrifice some tripod maximum height in favor of smaller collapsed size. Most of them only hit 5'6", give or take, fully extended.
