Tripod for the HDX200?

I know the camera isn't being sold yet but I need suggestions! The moment the HDX200 comes out my company is buying the camera. I have been on the forefront convincing my agency we can't live without this camera and now it's on me to tell those in charge of capital expenditures exactly what we need to get. I use to have time to be up on the new toys and technology (use to be a big hobby of mine), but now I just don't have time, and now I feel so out of it!

I need suggestions on what brand/type items to buy with this camera: tripod, case, mattebox, batteries any accessories at all!

Have fun with this. What would you get for this camera? And don't be too extravangant, afterall I have to explain all my purchases logically to a bunch of accountants. (keep it in the $20k range)

Thanks in advance!

Come on Natob2

Do a search. What do I need.

Hudson, I see you on here all the time in threads where you are listing toys you want. You obviously enjoy this. Share your insights, please.

What about lights, grip, audio, HD level editing station, post software etc.?

As far as lighting and grip (see pookie's list) I hire that out to crew companies. Audio is the same story. We are building a whole HD infrastructure based off Avids and Final Cut seperate of this purchase. I'm just looking for necessary gear for this camera.

Tripod for the HDX200?

Any suggestions for a good tripod for the HDX200 or comparable sized camera?

I'm looking for something that is somewhat portable, a good fluid head, and very stable. Thanks.

There are a number of tripod's that will work. Largely it depends on what kind of budget range vs. quality/features ratio you are looking at. One of the best for the money right now is Cartoni's most recent offering. They announced the Focus at NAB this year. (more info on these system's at http://www.mediumblend.com/abelstore/customer/home.php?cat=189&page=2 )
The Focus will handle anywhere from 2 - 22 #'s which gives you plenty of room to accessorize. There are plenty of other offering's from Sachtler, Cartoni, Bogen/Manfrotto and Panther.

Feel free to shoot me an email with the budget range you'd like to be in and I'd be happy to send you a quote.
