I've been using the Sachtler FSB6 with a set of Gitzo Systematic Series 3 6X legs. I've had the Canon 70-200mm and 100-400mm (dust pump version) on the FS7, as well as the XDCA, v-mount batt., and Odyssey 7Q+ recorder. Handled the weight okay. Sure, I'd like to move up to a 100mm, and if I shot at 500mm a lot, that might be necessary. Depends on your tolerance for shakey footage. I don't plan to upgrade, as I'm satisfied with the performance I'm getting, and the weight of the tripod would probably go up by another 4-5 pounds if I were to jump to a 100mm head. Recently, I could have used a bit taller tripod, so I would recommend going with the extra long version of these Gitzo legs. Here's what I'm using for about $2,250:

You can also get heavier duty legs by going up in the series. The Series 5 6X are really hefty.
