Trip to Frisco

I went into the city yesterday and had to bring my DVX. I'm not used to all the settings. Fiddling with it all day, makes me look like some kind of tourist!

Anyway here are some screen grabs.

This guy thought I was filming for a local tv station or something. He said he thought that because it was such a beautiful camera. That put a smile on my face.
He's doing a card trick.

Alcatraz of course.

This guy was incredible. He should be doing more than just street performances.

Photobucket resized my photos!! :furious3: :furious3: Oh well, just wanted to share a bit.

...not people that understand that it was often a historical "term of endearment".

Plus in this era of netspeak, gratuitous abbreviations, and general bastardization of all languages it just fits right in. I like it better than "The City" which is how it's normally referenced.

Yes, as a San Franciscan, I can tell you that it is simply "SF" or "the City" always with a capital "c".

I'm glad you enjoyed the City - it's a remarkable place!

Yes, I do know its "The City" escuse my improper terminology. But since this is a world wide organization, I used a term I learned while I was in Orange County (oops ehem "the OC" ) to make it simple for all.

Nice shots. I thought people from the Bay Area hated people calling it Frisco.

All the more reason to call it that

There are 2 girls I have known in my life that have told this too me 'They hate it when you call it Frisco'

I cannot stand any one of these girls. I make it a point to say Frisco everytime and when someone says 'They hate that...' I say 'So ?'

I visited SF once for 8 days. Although I really enjoyed my stay; I found it to be one of the ugliest cities I had ever seen. I remember driving into it and thinking 'This is it? This place is a mess!'

Anyways; cool enough place I suppose, but a San Diego native just doesnt get the appeal. It's freezing even in Summer (I'm referencing the wind off the Bay) and god forbid you are in the shade of a building. Jeez.

I'm being a little hard; it was cool enough. Again, just do not get the hype. Of course this where the whole NOCAL / SOCAL thing comes into play

In my world, when you say the city or The City there is only one place that you can be talking about, NYC...

I really need to move back.

Damn Friscoans always making shi* up to make themselves sound cool.

They do have Barry Bonds though so maybe they mean "The City of [insert evil comment here]" :)

Hell I'm from the south, live outside Dallas Texas (and you know us Texans) but "the City" has always been know as New York.

Wow. That's too bad that there's so much hostility toward San Francisco. I put it squarely on par with NYC and Boston as one of the truly great US cities. I really don't get the SoCal versus NorCal hatred. It's like there's a contest on, but why?

Anyway, if that's how it is...

No hostility E

Just messin around. I too do not get the NOCAL SOCAL thing. I guess it's a sports rivalry perhaps ? Who knows

I find CA lacking in any serious history and SF probably being the one city with any serious amount of historic value; Hollywood is still to new when it comes to history in my book

I'd live in SF after San Diego.
