SHORT: Trilogy of fables shot on RED EPIC

Hey!
I wanted to share the second part of the Kin Fables trilogy here with the filmmaking community.
It was shot on the Red Epic, on the west coast of Newfoundland. Let me know what you think of the plane crash sequence at the beginning!
I'd love to hear some comments on all aspects of the film.
Here is Salvage: https://vimeo.com/119777338

Just a little update for those who view the thread. Salvage has been Staff Picked on Vimeo! Would love to hear some critiques or comments from the community here :)

This deserves comment and praise. I'm not so moved by the film that I'd go tell everyone to watch it, but many of the individual shots are superb. Maybe I got it wrong, but I'm assuming the pilot died in the crash and this is some sort of spiritual ascendance we're watching. Otherwise I'd be disappointed by the fact that he looks like he emerged straight from the costume trailer rather than the sea.

Anyway, high marks for the cinematography, color, and effects. Really excellent work all around.

I too thought there were amazing shots, great color treatment and textures. I loved the pacing, and I thought the audio treatment was also very good. I also enjoyed the opening plane crash sequence.

The he only thing that pulled me out of it right away was that I saw the plane crash into the water, then, the pilot is found in dry land, with no sign of being in a place where he could have been washed up onto shore. The blood on the rocks also suggests he didn't wash ashore, nor were there plane crash debris to suggest the plane actually crashed on land.

And while I also agree that the costume department could have fringes up the pilots clothes a bit, I think this was a great visual feat! Good work!

Thanks a lot! Really appreciate the comment. The film is part 2 of a trilogy... Did you also watch part 1: KIN ? https://vimeo.com/73747093
There is a connection between the characters seen in the first film and those in Salvage... You're not too far off with your concept idea.
We're actually releasing part 3 this week, so if you enjoyed the films, the conclusion to the trilogy will tie everything together.

Thanks for watching!

Thanks Rafael!
Think of the characters more as "icons" or archetypes. They, and the the events that take place are symbolic, rather than literal.
Watching the complete trilogy will make things clearer :)

Thanks for watching and glad you enjoyed the visuals
