GH2 Triggering from the remote plug

I need to start stop videos or shoot pictures remotely (with a radio controller), using a simple trigger that at my command makes a connection between two cables.

Does the remote connection trig the camera just by making the short between two cables ?

If yes, stero or mono jack ?

If stereo, which are the two cables to connect from the 3 available ?
