Hi.
Had my first minutes with the HVX today in a shop. No serious stuff going on, I'll have'er over a weekend later to get into the setups. I still have some questions:
The good:
I'm (from this totally one hour of playing with the cam in an office lit with tubelights) impressed with the glass for the pricerange.
Noise. Hm... I had come to expect far worse. Anyone remember the DV era?
(Nope Vidar. I won't ever mention the other cam I once did
)
1.
How do you guys focus this thing?
I have planned to buy the 17" panny monitor to go with it, but I didn't really think it was an absolutely neccesity as I do after todays prelim tests. Focus assist... Hm...
Is there any way to get that pixel-accurate?
After a very short while i hooked up the 17".
I repeatedly noticed that I could not focus this thing right from the LCD or viewfinder. Hooking up the 17" made it easy. But it ads some $$$ to the equation.
But I might be missing some info here.
2.
And about heads. I tried some leitech heads. Not happy. What do you guys use with it. I need a rugged, stable smooth head that hopefully doesn't cost as much as the cam. Any ideas?
This is not bashing, just questions -
And Barry sugested using Raylight to upscale 720 p25 footage to 1080 to be able to edit in FCP. Have anyone used this workflow. I have an XP box standing here to do the job. How's this solution working for vari-speed shots?
