Trick to Matching the HPX500 with the HVX200?

Hey All,

I've got a big shoot this week and we are using one HPX500 and one HVX200. Most of the shoot they will be shooting separate footage, but there will be a few 2-camera interviews where we will be trying to match the cams up. Anyone have any hints or scene file setting they have previously used? We will be in 30pn and the HPX will have SD Canon J15x8 glass on it.

thanks,
Colin

Close, but not quite the same, at least as far as the master pedestal goes. You really need to adjust the MP to make the two look similar.

The best way to do this is to have something like a Cambook or a Chroma Du Monde chart, and hook both cameras up to the same monitor and toggle back and forth and adjust until you get them looking close enough to cut. I've matched a 200 and a 500 pretty darn closely before (except for sensitivity, of course) so it can be done.

Hey Barry,

thanks for the info, but unfortunately, I dont have any charts. any other hints from previous shoots?

ya here's a hint. point both cameras at the same subject. tweak until u are happy. repeat with more subjects and different lighting to be sure. having a nice monitor on set helps.
