Here's the trailer to a 30 minute film I directed for Sony/RCA hip-hop group Travis Porter. 99.9% shot on the F3 with Nikon & Zeiss primes:

We only had 3.5 days with the group, so most scenes used minimal to no lighting/reflectors whatsoever. I don't use that as an excuse to light poorly when I have the time, but it's damn useful when you're on an extremely limited schedule/budget.

Recorded ProRes (HQ) to Samurai, graded in Color

Interesting concept, looks pretty good, I'm not sure I like the "movie announcer guys voice" but I get it, Don Fontaine's not cheap. Also thought the prop guns looked plastic. It's good to hit them with flat black spraypaint and use a silver sharpie on the square edges of the gun, makes um look used like the paint rubbed off. It films much better than the stock plastic. Also the blood hits look like red water baloons. Not sure why their running around in white painters coveralls, maybe to make the blood hits stand out? My advice is to never slow down shots that look unrealistic, like the last shot, where the guy gets hit with a shotgun blast, but his body is moving like its getting hit with multiple bullets, just looks fake. These are what stood out to me, I commend you on shooting it in 3.5 days, that in iteself is impressive, and the cinematography looks good too.

Hah. They've come a long way since I served as DP on their Go Shorty Go video - shot on the HVX200 with Letus Ultimate and Zeiss ZF lenses. The editor totally fudged the video upload (aspect ratio is off), but it's got over 5.5 million hits. Crazy!

Haha, yeah -not sure you can put a price on that

That's funny...I remember seeing that video floating around a few years back. I DO NOT miss the days of Letus adapters!

Ryan that looks awesome. I really enjoy seeing great F3 footage. Was it S-log? I like the over-the-top stuff like the blood and announcer. Like a cross between Verhoeven and Rob Rodriguez. :)

Really? They were a pain in the arse, I'll grant you - but so few people were using them, they really gave you a competitive advantage when it came to wowing clients.

Loved the teaser though, looks like a lot of fun.
