Pay Pal me the freakin money and I'll go see it tomorrow. AMC in KC has a bar and a restraunt, get this, they have a buzzer to call a waitress on the chair. AMC test theater.

Okay, it looks like tonight is just about it for "Transylmania" in theaters.

See it now! I've got Paypal funds to reimburse five of you for your tickets.

Anyone?

I have now viewed King Cobra.

StephenMick, I am shocked -- SHOCKED -- at how high your standards must be. You thought King Cobra was bad? Oh no no no, my friend, King Cobra was an Academy Award winner compared to some of the stuff I have sat through. It wasn't even as bad as some of the Sci-Fi Originals I've stomached.

Now, on a more serious note, King Cobra at least offered competent lighting, competent sound, and competent framing, and even some recognizable actors (although, I will admit, that cameo by Erik Estrada was the most puzzling thing I have ever seen ever; he shows up for one flamboyant shot and is never seen or heard from again.) I mean, yes, of course plotwise it was predictable and terrible, the props were laughable, the direction was not good, but -- you gotta give props to the simple idea of gene-splicing a king cobra and a rattler, making it 40 feet long, ripping off Jaws at every possible plot-point, and then throwing in a dude running at, jumping, and drop-kicking the giant snake! I had to rewind that and watch that bit twice. Of course, the ultimate pinnacle moment for me was when the snake punched its fangs through the clearly-cardboard tube, and then the boyfriend and girlfriend chose to hold hands right where the fangs came through...

But, no ... if this was your standard for bad, I dare say Transylmania was probably entirely watchable... :D

Well, it looks like a group of Austin DVXUsers are going to hit this on Wednesday or Thursday before it's gone (for good, probably).

Chip, I'll be glad to Paypal your funds back to you, unless you'd like to cover either JDS or Drew Ott's ticket. I'm paying for myself and the wookie, as well as dinner afterward where we'll compare notes and prepare our reviews.

At this point, with the film solidly holding at 00% on Rotten Tomatoes, I feel obligated to give the Hillenbrands 87 minutes of my time.

Keep the money for JDS or Drew.

It's very exciting to see it holding strong at 00% on tomatoes, I think you guys are in for a real treat!

It looks like the Austin DVXUser crew is going to take this one for the team.

Tomorrow night, Ott, Caffesse, myself and (hopefully) Stanley will be attending the 7:55PM "Transylmania" showing at the Cinemark Tinseltown 17 in South Austin. Before the show, we'll be meeting up for some food and beverage at the Waterloo Ice House at Southpark Meadows. The adults will (possibly) take in some appropriate celebratory beverages, while Ott gets all the Mountain Dew he can drink.

So, four different Users, one (probably painful) movie-watching experience. But with a twist…

I will PERSONALLY be live-blogging (or updating this thread, I haven't decided which) the entire film from inside the theater!!! Minute-by-minute I'll be posting updates of the film's highlights and lowlights for your viewing and reading pleasure. That's right! We suffer. And your DVXUser experience is enriched.

Now, I reserve the right NOT to liveblog the film, should there be other patrons in the theater. (This is highly doubtful, but it could happen, and I would hate to be the guy that in any way disturbs someone's "T-Mania" experience.)

Finally, on Friday, I'll check the Box Office Mojo numbers to see if our attendance has in any way boosted the numbers for "Transylmania." Hopefully, our attendance will "bounce" the movie back up from #40 on the daily box-office chart to maybe #38.

Any Austin-area DVX'ers are welcome to join us!

I bet you guys are excited! If I didn't have family in town for the holidays I'd fly down for the big event.

It's 7:55 and the previews are about to begin! Follow along as I live-blog the showing of "T-Mania" with Ott, Caffesse and Mrs. Caffesse!

There is nobody else in the theater at this point, and the staff chuckled when I bought the 4 tickets. Not a good sign.
