It may come to that, BG. The fact is that if this is going to happen, it has to happen tomorrow or Thursday. By Friday, the Hillenbrand Brothers latest film may be long gone.

Stephen, what kind of entertainment/booze 'fund' are you running here? Madoff's got nothin on you and he had detailed reports.

I'm sure if you could talk Sad Max into it he would write a most excellent review and we would get the skinny on the set design as well.

So far we've received $18 in donations. I'm going to match whatever we end up getting, so right now we're at $36. I would think this could cover two tickets to "Transylmania," a fifth of Lord Calvert, a bottle of Boone's Farm and two .38-caliber bullets.

Anything else we get on top of that is just gravy.

Come to think of it, they could save money on the bullets and just do the suicide-by-cop thing after the movie. (I'd bring my 7D for that.)

Have you seen it, Ott? Have you voted in the poll? If not, I'd suggest doing both, then come back here and throw stones at Blaine's glass house.

I'm thinking about seeing it. None of the theaters up in my area are showing it.

If I were to see it though, I imagine my review would be more like Gonzo journalism than a traditional film review.

By George, you're right! It may very well depart the theaters in the next couple of days.

So -- who here is gonna man up and accept the challenge?
Blaine?
Hudson?
Forsman?
Hicks?

Or do we go with good old fashioned coercion, with the Wookie and StephenMick actually forcing helpless Drew Ott and JDS to endure the Hillenbrands on the big screen?

(and, you realize, if it comes to force, they can't have the benefit of the liquor. Besides, I don't know that Drew's old enough anyway, I think he's still under 21).

Y'know, I am really shocked that we haven't heard from Mark Johnson and Tim Hyten yet.

Hey, if you have to pay someone to attend it, does that actually *decrease* the net box office? We might get transylmania down to zzyzx-road territory yet.

FatMonster is most definitely not in the house.

And unfortunately, I'm heading out of town tomorrow for work, meaning I'll be unable to view any theater-goodness until Saturday at the earliest. But if I have to, I'll drag the wookie to see it early next week. (He'll have no choice, as I've hired him for a job and he must do my bidding.)

Post #91 claims there is $40 in the 'fund' Madoff would be proud. I could probably cough up another $4 to account for your fuzzy math if need be.

I'd think JDS and Drew are both man enough? heh? Maybe not?

FTR I'd be ok with spendind the money on pizza, popcorn and soda instead of Lord Calvert, I know Drew will be bummed.

Okay, so I had a brainstorm. And I now have a mission.

Someone, somewhere in the DVXUser community, there is someone who knows the Hillenbrand Brothers. Or there is someone who knows someone who knows them.

I want one, or both, of them, to post in this thread.

I would like them to join us, not so that we can poke fun at their work or belittle their creativity. No, I would like them to tell their story. How did they get started? What were the challenges in getting a film like "King Cobra" to the big screen? And how did they talk Erik Estrada into taking part.

Basically, I'm inviting them to be part of our community because I think we can all benefit from their collective wisdom.

After all, their film is in theaters (for two more days). Can any of the rest of us say that?

So, Hillenbrands! Come forward. Be heard. Join the fray. Become one of us.

At this point, our "critics," whoever they end up being, may spend the money on whatever they wish. Booze. Smack. Women. Men. I really don't care.

But I have to see a picture of each of them holding a ticket stub for a verified showing of "Transylmania."

F*ck it. I'll go if Jack goes.

(and Stephen and Luis have to go next week)

THERE MAY NOT BE A NEXT WEEK!!!!!

(Which is why the absence of Hudson, Blaine, Penguin, Monster and Zak in this thread is so disturbing. There's a deadline here, people!)

I'll go this weekend if it's still there. I'm on about hour 60 of probably 100 hours or so of ADR editing, foley etc. that has to be done by Friday. I'll be ready for something stupid by Sunday. MOnday matinee at the latest (cousins in town this weekend, don't know when she's leaving).

And I won't pay for it :)

Okay, so here's what I think should happen…

Drew, you'll go see "Transylmania" tomorrow, and I will reimburse you for both your ticket and dinner. You will have your picture taken holding your ticket stub and post that photo here, along with your in-depth review of the film.

Next week, if the film is still playing somewhere, I will drag Caffesse to see it. He and I will take the same pictures as Drew (with our stubs), and we will post our own (separate) reviews of the film here.

Then, if JDS feels up to it, and if it's still playing, he can go see it and I will also cover his ticket and the alcoholic beverages of his choosing, either before or after.

Blaine, Hudson and the rest of you… My disappointment knows no bounds.

I am shocked at your sincere devotion to this movie.
Alright - I'm game.
Think we'll have any extra time next week?

EDITED TO ADD:
Hey, why am I the only one who's ticket isn't being reimbursed?
:)

By the way, Nadia said she's game.
She'll go see anything.

Why do I have to go a week later by myself? I mean I switched to a new deodorant.
