Transporting Your Gear

I see you've opted for deeper shelves on one side. I've opted for two narrower shelves on either side with a "hallway" in the middle..

I was going to remove one set of shelves but decided to keep them, and instead moved my extra 4x4's so I could roll in/out my Junior cart fully built & loaded if needed. So I have added my ramp back into the mix. So you see the ramp on the left, and the Junior cart on the right parked in what was the clear hallway. I built a flag box on the right which extends out just far enough to cover the wheel box. Extra 4x4's then ride in the front area.

I have also added a Milk Crate Truck to the front door area, which I can roll off as needed.

Just waiting for more rope ratchets to arrive.

Next up is a cart makeover, and the addition of a Harbor Freight wench to assist in load in/out if needed.

I have moved these stands back to the rear of the van where they can be easily pulled off.

And then the ramp fits in place perfectly with the door closed.

It was time to re-assess my ride along. Everybody is different, but here is a shot of the current side door. I don't rent it out so it just supports my stuff.

I purchased the winch a couple of years back and never got around to playing with it. I know it isn't the highest of quality but it should be fun,

Beautiful dog! And great job on the truck.

Decided to move my G&E to a climate controlled storage space, but am thinking of switching out my heavy-duty shelves for rolling versions, & looking for suggestions. Though they likely never leave the storage space, something that could be strapped to the insides of a truck on occasion might be useful, but don't want to spend a $1000 for a cart from Backstage as I'll need four, or five, of them.

Thought about just getting a few Magliners without the full blown conversion?

I have moved my Yamaha Generator package to my old Rock N Roller Cart. So I understand not wanting to drop a load on converted carts.

My buddy Bill Kerrigan is in New York City from September 16 - 21, 2016 to demonstrate the Kerri Kart made by Matthews Studio Equipment, to stores and rental houses. Bill is a Director of Photography from Montreal and my buddy and neighbour and the designer. We have talked about it here over the past couple of years and it is now a reality and out on the market.

This new cart is modular and can be used as a Camera Cart, Rail Dolly, Sound Cart, Steadicam Cart and as a DIT cart.
http://products.msegrip.com/products/kerri-kart

Bill has said he would love to show DVXUsers in the NYC area the Kerri Kart I could meet individuals interested in carts while in New York.
Based on feedback at NAB 2016 and CineGear LA, Matthews has added an optional drawer with a combination lock.
They are also developing a Sun/Rain Canopy and a Black Privacy Canopy for the DIT version.

So if you want a personal demo of the Kerri Kart, please message me and I will relay it or give him a call.
He is staying at the Sheraton Lincoln Harbor Hotel.
500 Harbor Boulevard, Weehawken, New Jersey 07086

He will meet you at the hotel or drive to your location and give DVXUsers a 20% discount on most items if you order through him.

Bill has designed a very versatile cart. It would make a great addition to anyone's kit.

He certainly has, I have watched him work on this for the past four years. Doing research on set and talking to so many DPs,Opertaors, Gimbal ops etc. And through all this he has come up with a cart that can work for the camera, light, sound and other departments on set. If you have a corporate shoot with several locations in an office or plant it is ideal, just rig your lights and even your camera and roll it from place to place.
