Transformers

I liked this film way more than I thought it would. I think it was a good choice to make the story center on the humans more. Too much focus on the transformers themselves would have tipped this film too far into camp I think. That autobot hero-speak was getting a little lame towards the end.

Shia is always a funny little dude. I'm curious to see how he does in the Indiana Jones movie. Meghan Fox was brutally hot. Although I hadn't heard her voice until i saw the film. She sounds way different than her looks would suggest. Not sure if I like it or not.

My two complaints are:

Anthony Anderson. I was tired of his schtick two years ago. Time for a new go-to comic relief guy. Surely someone out there could fit the bill while being less annoying.

The Camera Shake. I paid good money to see giant robots fight it out. And then I could hardly follow what was happening. Way too much camera movement in the action sequences.

But he made sure to linger on all the product placements though, didn't he? :)

Anyway. Good film. I'll probably see it again tomorrow.

I liked it. Much better than Fantastic 4. The soldiers were underdeveloped but Shia was good, and the effects were absolutely amazing. I think this was the first truly seamless photoreal CGI film I've seen. The transformations were awesome. I could pick this to pieces, but it was entertaining. About half an hour too long though.

imagine animating those little pieces changing like that. Those guys must have busted their asses to rig those. I did a 3d animation of some armor that grew on a body like the helmet in the new lost in space and it took forever. In RFeyeD (our sci-fi short), the sword that grew out of his arm was going to be really detailed and grow like the guns in Ultra Violet but we started the movie with less than 3 weeks left, a day job and kids every other day.

badass flick, i want one. Bumblebee looked bad ass when that little armor thing came down on his face right after they let him go.

Couldn't agree more. I liked the Military aspect, and I think it was just as fun as the other things.

A fun movie. No need to pick at story and all that. I think it served it's purpose and warrants a Blu Ray Purchase for all the extras!

I'll see it tomorrow. I can't wait. Optimus looks great. I am looking forward to seeing Micheal Bay rendition. He was not a Tranformers watcher, and from what I read knew nothing of the cartoon. He was quoted as saying the concept of transforming cars were rediculous (in so many words). He took the job and now I'm curious. I loved the TRANSFORMERS animated movie in 86. I look forward to the actual real deal Movie.

Fantastic 4 sucked big time.

I thought this was absolutely fantastic.
Some parts were a little too shaky/grainy for my taste but that didn't ruin the film for me.

loved it, cgi/vfx was top notch and then some more.. Some scenes was a little goofy, but that doesnt matter. The details on the transformers was amazing.

I took my two oldest boys (10 & 7) to see this yesterday. Had a blast. I was in 9th grade when this came out, and I wasn't really into transformers (my guilty pleasure was "Voltron"). But my brother, who's five years younger than me, was really into them.

Anyway, my kids enjoyed themselves, though my ants-in-his-pants 7yo had a little trouble keeping still during some of the slower parts and we had to take one bathroom break (2-1/2 hour movie).

I was completely entertained. I didn't really notice any shakey camera, grainy pic, continuity errors, dialogue gaffs, transformers who should have been other kinds of vehicles, et. al., but then again, I wasn't looking for them. I just went into it looking to have a good time, and I did.

I thought the transformation effects were awesome. Totally blew me away and put a big smile on my face.

Cheers!

Even though i am not a Michael Bay fan, and this movie reeked with cliches. I had a blast watching it. The funnest movie i've seen in the theater in while.

This was the only movie that I have seen in many years that provoked very audible reactions from most of the crowd. From people busting out laughing to people jumping up and yelling FooCK YEAH! when cool stuff happened.

saw it in times square in digital, perfect 4th of july stuff, audience was wild,

was great to have the transformations be so disorienting in close ups

i agree that grain seems a little old by now, would have preferred digital noise

I can't believe what they did with jazz. But dam what a way to do it. Megatron just ____ him __ ___. Wow!!!!!

I gotta to say that I was entertained from start to finish. Despite what some dvxusers thought I found the movie to have its funny moment. Or according to movie theater full of people around me laughing.

I found Anthony Anderson to be quite humorous. Its always funny when an over weight , middle age nerd still living with his grandparents tells his grandmother to shut up.

I did find the shake alittle distracting from the fight scenes though.

Loved the cast, and as alway Jon Voight was great.

Megatron was the beast. I did kind of wish I would of got to see more of Star Screens personality, but you can't have it all.

The transformations were sick.

Micheal Bay did a great job with this film. Sometimes you do need an outsider to do it for it to be done right.
