Transformers: Dark of the Moon

Just wondering how come nobody gives Spielberg any guff since his name is attached to this trilogy? If you think this movie was crap, why does he, all the other producers, Hasbro and Paramount all get a free pass?
For commercial films, nothing matters anymore in 2011 except the Box Office.

Because even though films are a collaborative endeavor, the director is ultimately responsible for the movie not the executive producer or the studio.

I liked the first two Transformers, so was excited to see #3. Other than an awesome opening sequence and some fun and long CG battles, this movie is catastrophically terrible. A dog's breakfast. Pitiful. Shameful. Save your money and watch it on DVD...after it has left the "new release" shelf. Not even worth full-price rental. Didn't care a wit about a single person or storyline. Laughably awkward and mis-placed scenes throughout. What a waste of good performers like Frances McDormand, John Malkovich and John Turturro. Even their scenes made me cringe. Ugh! 1/2 star out of 5.

I really don't understand why Michael Bay gets all of this criticism. Yeah, T3 could have had a better storyline with a little more emotion, but it was a good movie with GREAT action - i.e. a blockbuster. There's only one "Star Wars" and you see what happened when they did the prequels. I mean, look what they did to the city of Chicago in this film. I'd like somebody to name a director that is better at directing action than MB. The things he did in this film were spectacular and people seem to just take it for granted. How many movies have we ever seen that have done this kind of destruction on this type of scale without any of it looking CGi'd or fake? And let's not get it twisted, the original cartoon series wasn't all that. They were a bunch of shows where the autobots were always out-matched and would end up letting the deceptacons get away. Oh, and Optimus would always get his hat handed to him in the process.
