Transferring Issue

Hey guys,
I've had trouble transferring clips before, and been able to resolve the issue by rebooting/doing a couple of other things... but this time it's not working.

One clip is not transferring while the rest worked fine. It's the longest clip of the bunch (12 minutes) and the most important of course. I was thinking that after the first three failures I should try transferring it off of a hard disk instead of directly off the card— when I tried this it also failed.

Any idea? Thoughts?

What exactly are you doing? What do you mean by "transferring"? Copying directories off card or using avccam viewer to copy card?

Have you tried clip restorer form Panasonic in case it's a clip that needed to be repaired?

Regardless, you should be able to copy the actual directory tree over to a hard disk.

It's basically in the "Log and Transfer" process in FCP. The longer clip would try to transfer for a while, and then it would fail.

I ended up importing it piece by piece, like two minute sections at a time. This worked, but on the last segment, it would import the wrong part of the clip— like I gave it an IN point at 10:00 to 11:36, and then it would give me some random part of the overall clip.

Is there another clip transfer program that's better than FCP's? Also, where can I find that program you mentioned?
