I recently got an iMac and Panasonic HMC 40. I have not had any problems downloading my clips into both iMovie 09 and Final Cut Express 4 until recently. Now, I cannot transfer the clips from either the SD card or the camera. When I follow the instructions on the Panasonic PDF to import the clips it crashes the programs. I have also tried the AVCCAM Viewer program on the Panasonic web site. It will download the files but neither iMovie nor Final Cut Express will recognize the file format (MT2S).
I have also purchased a file conversion program, which seems to work but I am not sure which file format is the best to convert them to. The native file appear to be MTS. AVCCAM Viewer converts them to MT2S. It is also very time consuming. Any advice on file conversion?
Can anyone tell me what has changed? Is there some setting I need to change?
Do I need to get Final Cut Pro?
