Transferring a project

Here is what I am trying to do:

Transfer a Premiere Pro project and assets to a laptop from my desktop so I can work on it while on vacation.

My plan is to use a USB bridge to transfer the project and assets using Project Manager.

My issue - the Desktop is running Windows 7 64bit, the Laptop is a Macbook Pro running .... whatever os x it came with. I'm not a mac person.

Will this work, or will I have USB bridge issues, and/or file issues. According to what Adobe tells me, there should be no issues with the files, it claims they can transfer back and fourth.

Never done it, just wanting any advice. Thanks.

I honestly haven't tried it, nor do I know if the filesystems make a difference when transferring over USB connections. Just the other day I needed to hand off footage on my PC to someone's Mac, and with their external HDD formatted for OSX, I could not simply dump the files to it. Instead, I actually tried to create an ad-hoc wifi connection between the two computers, and transferred that way. It was far too slow (which kind of astonishes me, the modems should not be that slow, even if it is wifi), so we ended up tranferring clip to an SD card, and then moved the SD reader to the Macbook; it was actually faster to do it this way!

If you can network the computers with an ethernet cable, either via a router or just a crossover cable, you should be able to transfer with great speeds actually, I do it all the time for my local computers.

Use Premiere's "Project Manager" to do this. You'll see how it works once you open it.

Might be my best bet. Thanks!

I appreciate the attempt, but that isn't what I was asking.

I know how to transfer from one pc to another using an external hard drive or jump drive, but I am looking to moving a HD feature film with many, many large video files from a pc to a mac hoping to be able to use a USB bridge. That is more my question - can you use a USB bridge from a pc to a mac. I provided the Premiere Pro info just in case it somehow mattered additionally.
