transfering/uploading video

I recently purchased an HVX200a and I will soon need to upload video from the camera to the client via an upload site (wetransfer) I had no trouble with the Sony EX1 but for some reason, I can't figure this camera out. I've tried a test and

after I transfered the footage to my laptop, there is a folder called contents. I am unable send that folder, it wants to open up. When I open it up, there are 6 subfolders. audio, icon, video, clip, proxy and voice. Which one do I upload?

By any chance, am I having trouble because it was shot in 24pn? Is there a way to simply transfer files without going through an editing system?

Any information would be greatly appreciated.

Welcome to the forum!
A folder is a folder, it should upload and 24pn isn't a factor.

Try putting the entire card folder in a folder named/dated for the shoot (XYZ Shoot 2-26-12), see if that helps.
Also, if the client will be editing on Final Cut Pro, be sure the Last Clip txt is copied with the rest of the card contents.

And I assume the card contents are not too large for their FTP to upload?

Good luck!

Oh boy..

You really should familiarize yourself with the P2 workflow.

You can use 7zip and zip up the CONTENTS folder and send it, but it'll be huge.

Thanks for your quick reply. That's a great suggestion... I will try that. I'm not sure what you mean by making sre the last clip txt is copied with the rest of the card contents. This is for a future shoot. most likely an hour of footage shot at 720p.

I'm sorry, this is all new to me. I just got this camera and now I have a gig coming up soon. That's why I'm asking for help Phil1076. I think I'm going to have to transfer it onto my laptop then upload to the client. The problem is that my laptop is old, windows xp and doesn't have a zip program. |Can you please tell me how to use 7zip? Where do I get it? I will most likely have to split the video up and send it seperately.

Can you just send them a small drive- offload your P2 to a cheap USB drive, send FEDEX?

Much less of a headache...
