Transfer question

A client wants me to transfer 15 minutes of a Sony mini dv tape to an 8 gb jump drive. Since I haven't done this in a long time I have forgotten the transfer rates and whether or not it will even fit on that drive. Or how long it might take, if it did. Also don't have anything but the DVX to use for the transfer and can't remember if the Sony tape will gum up the heads. I'm sure it's Wal Mart quality. It may not be worth it to do but I wanted to ask your thoughts before saying one way or the other.

15 minutes should be 3GB. It should take about 15 minutes. Do everything you can to not use your DVX.
