Trailr to my first feature

Didn't seem my type. Trailer bored me a bit.

But if you can keep me watching the feature, then kudos, because the trailer didn't display what seemed to be an enthralling storyline.

Just a cliche.

But production looks nice. Cinematography is okay i suppose, but I've only seen the trailer.


Good luck with it though.
 
first of all, let me say this. Congratu-****ing-lations on directing a feature. That is a huge acheivement in itself. Now, regarding this trailer... it needs work. This song is ultra cheesy and doesn't seem like it fits the mood of the piece. I say you go with something eerie from the start. There's a line in there about missing people on an island. That's interesting. Create an eerie mood piece set around that, instead of a pop-ish song about... i don't even know what. There's something here. But you destroy it with that song.

Congrats on making the feature, I'm impressed, that is quite an accomplishment.

As for the trailer, I think that you have something interesting to work with. The commects made previously about swithing the focus more around the island are good ones. That idea peaked my interest, but it didn't seem as though it was emphasized. It seemed like what was - was the fathers diary. While that may be the main crux of the film (I don't know as I haven't seen it.) I got that it was important without all of the time devoted to it.

One more thing, it may just be the trailer, but I felt like some of the shots were too contrived - like the minister saying we commit this body to the ground with his hands in the air, and the shot with the couple in the bedroom where the sheets were up to her head. Both of those shots felt forced to me, as in not natural, or how they would / should appear.

Anyway, I hope the feature goes well for you. It's got to feel good to have that under your belt!

We've showed the trailer to about a hundred or so people filmmakers included. Shot on xl2 decent budget. Getting offers! I'll let you know when it's sold.

are you going to post an mov or what. I have no clue what movie this is because I won't corrupt my comp with the presence of realmedia.
