trailer

Re: trailer

I think a lot of people would say that the lighting is a little flat, and I was going to say that, but I realized that this is a comedy, and comedies, don't have to have sharp contrast in color and lighting.
I think the energy looks great and there are some really funny moments in the movie.
I wish I could see a little more focus on the main character. Just to get more of a feel for him. Maybe have a little dialogue from him.
I think the camera work is really solid. Your shots look smooth and thought out.
Im really intersted in seeing a finished product! Or at least a little more depth in another trailer.

Re: trailer

I like the trailer. The last shot reminds me of Royal Tenenbaums, and the whole thing reminds me of a ton of parties I've been to (except for the bright light).

I'm interested to see your finished piece.

Re: trailer

awesome, thanks for comments... Im still trying to decide what look to go for, I will use magic bullet on final product (and the next trailer)... Ill post more as it comes together.

Re: trailer

I think it looks like it might be funny.
But if the guy with the "hair" in the grey suit is the main character... maybe focus on him a little more as a character so we know who he is.

Re: trailer

did you use one light source to light up everything? a little back light and background light can kick things up nicely. but too bad you shot stuff already. nice job though. Great pace.

Re: trailer

Great concept for a flik, especially a short. The lighting bothered me a bit, but only because it was so in your face. The light was very bright and screaming, "hey, look at me, I'm the focus of your attention". To me, for a comdey, lighting should be clarifying and we shouldn't be drawn to it because it will take the viewer out of the narrative and remind them they're watching a movie.

I got that the guy in the grey suit was the main character. This does look like it has some funny moments and I'd like to see the finished film.

Re: trailer

if we ever just used one light, it would be one softbox (like in the last shot of the girl.) ... yeah, it totally was to draw attention. I know its prety obvious lighting in alot of scenes (I agree, thats a bad thing)
its crazy how you learn something new every time you make something. thanks for the advice/comments... Ill post the final product before I move on to the 'next big thing' ;)
