Trailer/Teaser for my first film

So, 80 something views and no comments?
I am getting ready to send out this trailer as an invitation to the premier of the film.
Any help on changes would be appreciated.

sorry about your dog.

maybe I'm not quite getting what you're portraying the way i should, but what the hell is it about? the black and white looked nice, but from watching the trailer i have NO idea what its about.

Zach - thanks, I was a bit afraid it was too vague but also since it is only 30 minutes long I did not want too give away too much.
I was going for the..."what the heck? I want to find out what that is all about." feel and build up a little speculation and intrigue.
Did I achieve that? Or is it more..."okay, now I am confused...so...next."?

It was a bit vague, but I understood that the movie is a portrait of your dog, which is not just any dog. Right?

Sorry to hear about the illness, making a movie about him is a good idea. I wish I did something simular.

As InvisionProductions said, I also like the overall style.
 
mmm...good point. i think its between "what the heck?" and "i'm confused." maybe just a LITTLE more of an explanation then I think you're golden :D
 
Sweet. I thought of adding another small interview segment to add just enough info to make people really want to see it. Will update soon.
My film is about a dog who just so happens to be able to play the saxophone and becomes a jazz legend. He is discriminated against at first because he is black and a rottweiler (breedism) but then breaks into the big time. But...he gets too big too fast and things start to fall apart. It is told through the people who played with him and knew him with flashbacks to old photos and footage of him.

First, sorry to hear about your dog! Losing mine several years ago to cancer was one of the worst experieces of my life. My thoughts are with you on this one...

Second, I don't know what's to be confused about in the trailer. I mean it is called Jazz DOG...there are clues...will work for treats...etc. It's clearly a parody mockumentary of sorts, even without reading your description. I'm not sure why there was so much confusion over it.

I liked it. Very sweet. Nicely shot. My only gripe would be to change the title to maybe the dog's name or something. Like I said, its called Jazz Dog so I wasn't surprised to find out they're talking about a dog at the end... really that's my only gripe. Looks nice!!!

I thought the trailer worked, good pacing, good deep bassy voice on the VO.

The only thing I didn't like was switching to color for the interviews, for some reason they seemed of lesser "quality" than the B/W moments. Just my 2 cents.

I have Quicktime 7 and I can never view your files!?!? I've been dying to see your DVC30 footage and all I get is sound and a white screen!?!?
