Trailer From Our DVX Horror Film

Hey all,

I have a small trailer I threw together (in about 7 hours) from our currently in post production horror film FEEDING GROUNDS. The film was shot with the 100A and used an anamorphic adapter for about 90% of it. We matted the film for 2.35 but the trailer is more like 1.77. Just some test color correction was done but is far from the final look. Anyway, check it out at FeedingGrounds.com.

Like the the use of hues and saturation, last shot was a good one. That asian chick....damnnn, what's her number I need an actress like her
BTW, where was that shot?

I'm impressed. Usually these horror movies aren't too well shot. But some of the shots I saw looked pretty good.

But man, the music on the web page got annoying.

Oh yeah...............mmmmm, lesbians......

Looks very cool! I thought the location looked awsome.

But did I hear a sound clip from Texas Chainsaw Masacre (w/ jessica biel)? I'm pretty sure it's where the fat old lady says "Oh my, my, my"

Yeah, the music was grabbed from the Texas trailer. Had to throw something together for the distributor but when I am done editing, I will do an official one. I am a composition freak from being a photographer so tried to make every shot in the film something interesting to look at. Considering we did it in 8 days we got real lucky with the look. It was shot out in the California desert near Palmdale.

The - "ahem" - lesbian kissing scene I waited until the sun was 10 minutes from falling so I could get some nice magic hour light and throw the girls in a lot of shadow. Did that whole sequence in about 10 minutes with the anamorphic adaptor and looked really nice.

The girls are all real easy on the eyes and you'll see more of them when I update the trailer. The movie I am cutting in FCP and about a week away from finishing.

Lesbian love and undead lesbian zombie love are the two most beautiful kinds of love there is. Trailer rocks.

Your splash page, with the really driving music is incredibly irritating. There is nothing more amateur hour than music on a splash page. Why the f*** can't anyone put music on their page that you have to turn on before you hear it instead of scrambling to turn it off.

I've a half dozen times woken the missus from a sound slumber while doing late-night surfing. Good thing I keep the office door locked...

That kicks some major ass. the cc is right on. and two hot girls wow. the storie looks awsome and I would love to see it. Some of the shots you took right out of my head and I loved the way you exacuted them. It is good to see that I am not the only one that thinks shots like that look good. good luck with your post work will be checking your sight from time to time to see if any progress.

Thanks gang!

The web site is not mine at all. I just directed and edited the film. The writers/producers took over the web site but I agree about the music and will point that out to them.

In terms of shooting the film, I was pretty impressed with the image the camera got. Especially with a 2.35 setting, things looked really sweet. I like to tell as much with the image and composition as I can without drawing too much attention to it and considering the hit and run we had to do with no dolly or steady cam (and barely a tripod) the 100A grabbed some nice stuff.

I just finished another film (a western!) shot with the Panasonic HD 24P camera. Cost me 10 grand to rent for the two week shoot but when we crunched the blacks and sepia toned the image...it blew me away (see below). I would like to try the lens on the XL2 next time as I prefer longer lens' but the DVX did some nice stuff.

Below are two pics from the DVX and a monitor shot off of the 24P HD film just wrapped.

And note on the HD the in monitor look of the film:
