Haven't posted here in a while I've been so busy, but here's a couple links to the trailer for our upcoming short film DIETRICH.

Also, I've got a question that's kind of general in nature, but I'm sure lots of folks here have experience with this: The Producer has scheduled a cast/crew screening at local theater. My understanding is that it's digital projection and we just bring a dvd copy of the film, plop it in and push play. Is there anything I should know about this process or questions I should ask of the theater? Can it be as simple as just showing up with my dvd?

I appreciate anyone's input.

Super dangerous thought Todd. Looking at the quality of your trailer I'm thinking you know that. But... just so its been said ... test that DVD on the actual playback device 1 week ahead of time. Just in case something isn't working/looking the way you thought it was going to so you have time to fix it. You only need to learn that lesson 1 time in your career to make it a hard fast rule!

Yeah the more i think about standing there with 200 people all looking at me saying "...um, we are gonna get to see our movie...right?" the more I feel the need to visit at LEAST a week before!

Our film was shot 1080, and the final 26 minute file comes in around 35 GB using Apple's ProRes 422. So there's obviously a lot of compression that happens when we squish it onto that dvd, but is there any better delivery method than a dvd? I mean is it possible to take uncompressed version on my laptop to the theater? And/or would the lower resolution of the dvd be noticeable? I mean I can see difference on my computer screen, so it seems obvious that when it's projected on a screen 20 feet high it will be even MORE noticeable. Am I right?
