Trailer for my movie

honestly bro, the acting was pretty bad. I don't know if its the compression but some of your shots looks a bit soft. Other than that, I'm down to see this sort anyway. pEACe!

here are my crics, hope im not being too harsh:

the audio is terrible, did you use the camera mic? I couldnt understand half of what they were saying. some guys sounded louder than the others (maybe the mic was placed closer to them). Plus with the music, the voices just sounded muffled.

Im assuming you shot in 4:3 then cropped in post to 16:9? It doesn't seem like you framed l to shoot in letterbox mode, theres a few shots where a guys head is being cut off on topby the black bars, while another dudes face is being cut off in the bottom, its kind of distracting to me atleast.

I like the profile shot of the guys talking (right before it fades to another shot), although maybe there's a little TOO much dead space to the right?

Speaking of that, is there some sort of a time lapse while they're talking? that's the impression I got out of the cross fade, as if they've been sitting there for a while chatting, but it seems the conversation is in real time, so I dunno.

The parking lot shot, you're going for the lens flare look? It distracted me when he walked in front of the sun light and it got dark then light again, but hey, if that's what you're going for, awesome.

Finally, the acting is pretty sub-par, Are you casting friends? Because to me its screaming "student film acting!" sorry, just being honest!

overall I got an idea of what the movie is about, and I'd like to see it, keep it up. Hope I didn't offend you or anything

nope, no offense taken. the actors were my friends, not to make any excuses but our class did a casting call and i went there two hours late, and every actor was taken, so i kinda had no choice but to use my friends.

as far as the audio goes, it was a windy day... we used a audio technica shotgun mic that the skool provided and i forgot to check out a zeppelin.
lens flare was intentional...
i did letterbox in camera. but the head being cut off just a lil doesnt bother me at all.

thanks for checkin it out doe.

good you did it - now you learn what was no good -
:)
acting was no good, dialogs no good, sound no good

so next time do it better :)
good job :)

Congrats on getting something shot - that is the first step.

Whenever I do a shoot, I plan the crap out of it. I make up storyboards, shot lists, a list of my crew and responsibilities, and all the gear I will need (which I try to lay out and inventory the night before). And even after all that there are always unexpected surprises.

Still, the more you do it, the easier it gets,

Chris
