Trailer for my first feature

Hey guys,
I accidentally posted this over in the DVX100 forum earlier this week, and thought it might be best to re-post it in the correct forum.

Anyway, I wanted to invite everyone out to see the trailer for my first feature, "War Stories".

A little about the shoot: Shot with an HVX200, edited on FCP, and VFX were done using After Effects, and 3D Studio Max. We used a cobra crane for some of the shots, and a hand made dolly with PVC pipe track for others (thanks dad). Lighting was done via Chinese lantern, 2 softboxes and a variety of Lowells.

Much of my education in film came from all of you so I thought you might enjoy seeing it.

As always, comments and constructive criticism are always welcome.

Best,

-Lee

PS. We also have a Facebook group, w the trailer and poster. So if you want to stay in the loop with the goings on in the film, feel free to join! http://www.facebook.com/profile.php?...id=64301338432

Lee,
That was great. Loved it, just one thing though, there were some video-looking shots that, hopefully, maybe can be enhanced w/ a bit of Color-Correction. But great, job, update us on where the project is going.

What's the estimated budget on this?

Hey Wex,
Just curious, but which shots do you think need a little more color correcting. I know the classroom stuff might need some help, but I'm kind of curious as to any other thoughts you have.

As far as my estimated budget..... I'd prefer to not go into hard numbers, but I will say that it was probably a lot less than you think. A lot of stuff was donated and we got reduced rates on a lot of the locations through contacts and friends and such. Our composer is a friend of a friend in LA (his music isn't in the trailer), our caterer donated her services, etc. So whatever number you might have in your head, move the decimal forward a few places ;)

The scenes when he is on the computer in the bed need a little boosting as well. It kind of seems like there were two different D.P.'s, but over all I loved it.

Really good looking stuff in my opinion. I think it looks fantastic, like something I'd actually want to see! That's great, I mean it looks big budget for an indie film and interesting, too. Good work.

Thanks for the comments guys.

Hyphonite, I think the reason why it looks why we had 2 DP's is that over the course of the film, my lighting skills improved, etc, and so things started looking better and even more professional.

I'll keep you guys updated with new shots and we finalize em. We're in the process of re-visiting the VFX on the runway shots (I'm not 110% happy with that). And then we're finalizing a few of the pop tracks and we're done.

/Then on to submitting to festivals.

:)
