Trailer DVX100A + Andromeda

Here's a draft version of a trailer for a film I'm working on using the Andromeda modification for the DVX100A.
I say draft because I haven't recorded all the voices I need to properly tell the story in trailer version....plus the 480p image is up-rezzed from an SD source, not the ideal method for full sharpness and color.
That said, here it is. The story regards a young typography designer who finds himself neighbor to a couple of bomb-building French mercenaries during a hot summer.

kewl
looks really nice

i dunno if its due to the compression, but everytime i see stuff from andromeda, it seems really really grainy.

nice

nice

nice work matt. remarkable, especially knowing that it came from an SD cam.

I think maybe it was squeezed abit though, must just be the posting.

the african american actress, is her first name allison? if it's allison, she's acted in one of my films before.

thanks

rhandomskate, it's a trailer - why would you want it to tell the story more?
It does a fine job just enticing us without giving too much away, that's what trailers are supposed todo. It just needs tightening up a bit, mostly on the sound front.

i thought that looked really good some nice shots in there at that really jumped out at me which was coo. Good job

she was in an educational film i was hired to direct/produce, about animal welfare.

but because of reshoot schedule and her availibility, it looks like she won't be in teh final cut, which is a shame cuz she's wuite talented.

i recognized her face in one of your screen grabs earlier.

visually stunning, like all andromeda footage.

storyline, not so much.

The particular storyline not to your taste or just my storytelling? Movies about typography designers are probably not as broadly appealing as serial killings and whatnot...so I guess I did limit myself on that front. But I assure you, its the best film about the creation of a sans serif font you'll see all winter!

I'm pretty sure the aspect is right... There's a lot of chances to lose things in translation dealing with the andro footage, though... all the screens were shot practically, I used the stock dvx lens.
Thanks for any interest and/or critiques. I hope my next version trailer will be a lot tougher and more interesting!

Looks awesome. Your stuff is always impressive Matt.

Since it's a "draft" of a trailer, I'll be so bold as to make a suggestion to delete one of the two lines "I'm a typography designer, I design fonts." There are two identical lines back-to-back in the trailer and it's a bit odd.

As for the sequence of events--perhaps we should be teased about 1) someone moving in next door 2) they're bomb makers 3) let's put a hole in the wall 4) but I'm just a typography designer 5) bomb going off in CN Tower 6) "I love you."
It might be worth trying that sequence for the trailer. Just a free opinion because everybody has one. :-) Looks great though!

The trailer was much better than how it sounded when I read the thread as it downloaded. <--- I hope that made sense.

I thought it looked pretty good. Footage was visually appealing and I thought the story seemed watchable. I was on the lookout for weird aspect, and I only noticed it when the guy's girlfriend said "I love you" to him.

I like the noise that is there. It does not bother me in the least bit but, the image
is squeezed. Drop a circle into your footage and see if it stays perfectly round through
your whole process. Let's see more!
