Total Lunar Eclipse Tonight

Is there any where I can go to get some good lighting kits to light up the sky so I can see the moon without going to a 1/6 shutter on my DVX?

Thanks a lot,

Robbie

You could try this:

This was a great sight. Clear skies in bklyn. Did not film it. Just like I did not film the shuttle launches. There will be a million pics of this already, better than what we can get, and I don't like to disrupt the actual experience of it to record the experience of it.

Last one......

The pictures after this started to blow out on the "un-eclipsed" portions of the moon and if I exposed for the "un-eclipsed" areas you couldn't see the red. If I had a longer lens I could have done some HDR, but with the 150mm it wouldn't work too well. I enjoyed shooting it none the less. Off to bed.

......or the more I pushed the saturation in light room to make it look the way I wanted it to.

Plus light pollution and real pollution are not the same thing. I live near Atlanta so I know the air is crap, but I can see clearly at night b/c there are no lights around me.
Yes. Light pollution won't change the colour, just the visibility. It's the air pollution that affects the colour.... or you pushing the saturation. :D

In some areas (with cleaner air) it isn't as red as others. Even areas that are relatively close together like Ottawa and Toronto. The moon can appear quite different.

We use to live out in the country with little light and air pollution. The view was spectacular for stargazing. Still, we could make out Saturn and its rings quite well last night even in the city thanks to the lunar eclipse. Did anyone else take a look?

Shot maybe 30 minutes of this last night. I put up a youtube video but the quality is kinda crap.

I made it a timelapse, so I had to compress twice to get the speed I wanted before even importing into youtube, but you get the idea.

Also, the moon kept drifting out of frame every 5 minutes or so, hence the fades/reframings.

Enough explaining, here's the clip:
