Tornado season...

Not yet. It's still in mint condition. But after last night, I'm very glad it's there. It was pretty quiet in OK it seems.

Man, tornadoes are some wicked-crazy-intense sh!t!!!

I'll take a hurricane pounding for hours with its days of warning over a surprise F4 'nado any day...

Glad to hear all's OK in OK, Hawk.

No disrespect meant, it's not a thing to make light of, but how do you convince people to live in a place with the nickname "tornado alley"?

No disrespect taken. It's a very valid question. And without getting political, I can attest that this area is very stable (economically) compared to many other parts of the country. Also, it's just something you learn to live with, too. You know the warning signs ("Tornado Yellow" sky, weird cloud patterns), and you get ready to get underground ASAP.

I got hit about 2 years ago... wasn't home... but loss about 15% of my barn's roof... other damage... worse part was losing 4 50' trees... those take to long to replace... so I'm hoping that's it for me... but just in case... my house is on a slope... so adding a small basement when I start my remodel soon...

Just read an interesting science story about the storms. 10 year national average for total number of tornadoes for the month of March is 87. There were 81 reported for one day this week.
