hi,

my three year old decided to help me clean by sweeping my camera off the couch...
camera dropped on floor.

when i turned camera on to check, screen showed pixels (in ML peaking mode) everywhere,
not just area of focus. eventually, a couple dead pixels appeared on screen, which i was
able to fix via mapping.

if i disable peaking, it seems to be fine...but clearly something is wrong.

i'm planning on bringing camera to canon to get fixed...does anybody have any idea of
what part of camera might have been damaged/needs to be looked at?

thanks.

How does your camera work without ML?
I don't know how it would be possible to damage software by dropping it, but if the issues only show up when using ML, then Canon will just say that your camera is fine.

Bummer to hear about the extra help you got. Kids will test your ability to keep your cool.

These are generic suggestions, so take them for what they are worth.

Ditch ML and see how the cam works in stock form
Remove the battery(s) including the CR type that powers the rom and reboot
Do a factory reset
