M3 "flimsy" screw solution...
If you are like me and have issues with flimsy screw that secures EVF/mic tube on FS7 handle, here is the replacement...
You can order it online at: www.jwwinco.com
(just copy the part number: 3N12A20K )

MOUNTING: remove existing piece of $hit screw (be careful not to strip the head!), and screw in the lever. I recommend putting appropriate washer (from your local hardware store) for proper fit...

Be very careful with this solution, as the threads inside the mount are just as flimsy as the screw itself, and I ended up stripping them as well while trying to attach the thumbscrew. The result is a big bummer.

Thank you!
It is very important not to be "Hulk" when securing the lever... Just like any other metal screw... Just enough force to stop the tube twisting in it's cradle, that's all!...

This modification is not intended for "daily use". Just a solution when the "time comes" and you need to loosen the tube ASAP, and continue shooting. I would not make this lever part of the "packing/unpacking" the camera routine.

this just happened to us as well. what was your solution?

It happened to me too. It is a shame that Sony has not foreseen here better material for the screws! :(

I did the exact swap out. It's a tricky thing as there is very little room to get the lever/screw started but with patience it can be done and it is a panacea. I recommend it to all FS7 owners.
And to compliment the adjustment, may I also highly recommend this from SmallRig? (smallrig@smallrig.com):CoolBlock 90 degree angle 15mm Rail Block 1104.
This allows a very simple fix for VF placement, alignment and most of all, a secure, slip free mount for the VF that's easily adjusted but won't slip.
Chump change at about $10US.
