Hey guys,
I run a small, one man, production company. I shoot music videos, commercials, and event coverage. Up to this point I have just been using my youtube page and have been referring people there to see my videos. I'd like to create a free website where I can host my videos, photo gallery, have a "contact us" page etc. What are the top free sites where I can build a website suitable to my needs?

Wordpress.com.

Free, somewhat customizable, lots of themes available. If you're into it, buy a domain from wherever (~5 bucks a month) and self host a wordpress site instead of having yourstuff.wordpress.com.

It's what I used before I went flash.

Cheers,
Craig

I definitely say go for the Wordpress site.
If you're after a decent host, have a look at levelhosting.
They're a Canadian hosting company and I've had nothing but awesome experiences with them.
They're also cheap as chips, which is great! I'm talking $3.50 a month for a decent chunk of hosting space.

Have a look at some Wordpress templates, and if you can, maybe even splurge a bit of money by going for a pre-made Portfolio template to give you that little bit more professionalism.

Otherwise, if you're handy with a bit of HTML and CSS you should be able to knock something up without a problem - just don't be surprised when, like me, it's 2:48 AM and you're still editing stylesheets to get everything just right, haha.
