By our top ten I assume our personal. I mean I love Citizen Kane, Casablanca, Ran, Godfather, 8 1/2, etc and feel they should be on top 10 of all time but other movies have personally "moved" me more and receive almost monthly viewings.
Dances With Wolves
African Queen
Se7en
Rear Window
Raising Arizona
Dr Strangelove
Annie Hall
A Christmas Story
The Fisher King
West Side Story
I didn't include any movies of the past 10 or so years as they need more history with me before they can move to top 10 list
In no particular order...
Pulp Fiction
City of God
A Clockwork Orange
Schindler's List
Seven Samurai
Eternal Sunshine of the Spotless Mind
Lost in Translation
Saving Private Ryan
Lord of the Rings (I think of them as one )
Reservoir Dogs

Everyone posts some variation of the same 20-25 films . . .
Or it becomes a contest as to who can name the most esoteric obscure films.
Usually both, and in that order.[/quote]
No contest here, the films I named really are the world's 10 best films. You should check them out.
My Top 10. There's so much that I could probably change though. My list is almost never the same (aside from the few at the top):
1: Terminator 2: Judgement Day (my favorite trilogy too)
2: The Matrix
3: John Carpenter's The Thing
4: Aliens
5: The Lion King
6: Toy Story
7: Forrest Gump
8: The Lord of the Rings (it's really one long film)
9: Kill Bill (I'm still high off it. I finally saw it just a couple of weeks ago)
10: Pulp Fiction/Blade (tie. I LOVED Blade, so I had to put it up in here somewhere.)
Other favorites (many that I could easily put in my top 10): Jurassic Park, Back to the Future, Seven, Braveheart, Saving Private Ryan, Final Destination, The Terminator, Armageddon, Fight Club, Memento, Independence Day, The Truman Show, Toy Story 2, Aladdin, The Abyss, Army Of Darkness, Casino, Dead Alive, Donnie Darko, Edward Scissorhands, Fargo, The Green Mile, Jackie Brown, Titanic, Spiderman 2, X-Men 2, Gladiator, Interview with a Vampire, Halloween, A Nightmare on Elm St., etc.
There's still a lot of really great films out there that I have yet to see. I'll probably check out some of the films on some of the other lists.
Had to re-edit my list. I had accidently erased #2.
1. 2001
2. Cinema Paradiso
3. City of God
4. The Color of Paradise
5. Punch-Drunk Love
6. Chinatown
7. Shadows
8. Baraka
9. Eyes Wide Shut
10. Kill Bill
others: one flew over the cucoos nest, 8 1/2, The Seventh Seal, AI, Children of Heaven, Pather Panchali and the whole Apu Trilogy.
It's hard to explain. It's one of those films where you either get the appeal or you don't.
I thought it had amazing style. I loved the story, camera work, cinematography, the music, the choreography, the over the topness of it all, etc. I enjoyed the whole Kill Bill universe that Tarantino created. Also, it was pretty funny too. It just felt unique and different.
I guess you have to like revenge movies too. I wanted to see The Bride get revenge on all these characters that did her wrong and she did it in style. Some films just have "movie magic" that you gives you a certain feeling after you watch it. This feeling is rare and Kill Bill had IT. I'm not sure what IT is, but whatever it is Kill Bill had it. lol
Speaking of Kill Bill, has anyone seen the uncut Japenese Vol. 1 DVD? I'm about to get it. It's in full color (including the House of Blue Leaves fight scene) and has an extra minute or so of footage cut out to keep it from reaching NC-17 status. I'm really looking forward to seeing the House of Blue Leaves fight in full color. I thought it was great in black & white, but I honestly wished it was in color.
