Took Panasonic ~7 years since the initial HVX200 fr "NO NAME" to s/n of P2 card
Incredible breakthrough! It took Panasonic literally 7 years for them to get the "NO NAME" P2 formatted card to the serial # of the P2 card.
So far I can only achieve this in the camera. The P2 driver formatter app (Mac&PC) and AG-MSU10 is still NO NAME.
Sony's XDCAM already have their SxS card figured out years ago. Every SxS shot has a unique volume name.
After upgrading the latest firmware for the HPX-250s and all of the 2/3" P2 cams, I noticed they finally decided to have something unique.
The next step would be custom prefix the 11-character P2. But that can take another decade or so.
This minor volume name is a huge time saver and big deal for high volume P2 production offload with multiple cams.
