Too good to be true deal on H4N

Nope, I bought that exact package. Shipping was quick, box was packaged nicely. Great seller - the mini tripod it comes with is a little cheaply made but it works in a pinch if you need to put it on a table or something.

I bought a similar package through them on amazon.com (seller sells there as well)

My package was the same price, but instead of headphones and a mini tripod it came with a microphone boom stand)

Just FYI though, you still need a microphone mount to be able to hook this on to the H4n, (not sure why they didnt include one).

Great little piece of equipment though for a great price, that extra 16gb card will come in handy.

I start shooting my first project using it tonight!

I will second the quality of this seller - bought the package with the headphones, my mini tripod broke very, very quickly however when I pushed down too hard on it...ymmv, but the 16gb card is great and I actually have been using it in my GH1 with no problems!
 
Can I just ask to those who own a H4N - it allows you to control audio levels and allows you to use headphones, but it doesn't disable the 7D's AGC? Is this correct?

I ask because I am very interested in purchasing one. Thanks :)
 
Not to my knowledge, but again I never actually connect it to the 7D. I record audio with it separately and use the 7D audio file as a reference file. Maybe someone else can clarify.

I do vaguely remember seeing a modified cable connecting the Zoom to the mic port on the 7D, but I believe it was custom and not for sale and can't remember if it disabled AGC or not.

I don't have one yet, but from what I've read, you can't monitor with headphones. Most are using the av cable with/without headphone amp such as boostaroo. Use magic lantern to disable the AGC.

I was also considering buying from this seller, seems good deal.

The H4n has headphone monitoring.

The price dropped $70 in Canada to match US prices.
