Well my friend called me and asked if id like to help him out by shooting some footage of his wedding.... I HATE filming weddings.... but hes a good friend of mine, offered me some cash and i get to play with his new camera....

the sony hd fx1. I've only seen this camera once and i didnt really get to play with it much so im kinda excited cause i get to test drive a new camera and get paid to do it! not to mention all the single babes that will be there!!!

Just wondering if any of you guys have any sudgestions on using this camera. as far as settings you have found that work well...

Avoid the gain controls if you can help it. At most use +3db. When outdoors in the sun, use ND-2. I like to jack up the color level all the way to 7 for more film like color, but for a wedding it might be overkill. Still, staying at 0 looks too washed out to me so you might want to experiment there. Don't use the cinframe modes, they stink and you'll lose resolution. I'd also disengage the auto shutter. For an event where things are unpredictable you might want to keep auto exposure on, but if you're in a stable lighting situation go manual all the way.
