Hey guys, thought I'd post a clip of a movie I made with my dvx100a this summer. The clip is the first 4 minutes of the 20 minute film. Contains a very "intense" golf cart race. I'd love to hear what you all think about it. Any feedback is greatly appreciated.

Here's the link:

If you'd prefer a .mov file - you can download it here:

Let me know what you think of the footage!

Very impressive. Love the chase, but I'd say the only thing that kind of urked me was the conversation during the chase. You can definitely tell it was done in a studio, sounded tin canny. Maybe redo it or tweek the sound a bit.

Fun little clip... I really liked the lighting in the opening sequence and the golf cart sequence was pretty cool... Like already stated, the audio kills everything though... Even the voice over in the beginning doesn't work for me... I think it would be even better in the beginning if Bob were talking to an animal or something instead of just reacting to the voice over. Lots of opportunity for comedy using this scenario.

What lighting did you use on the opening scene? The one with the guy sitting in the chair.

Thnx.

I'm working on tweaking the audio during the race - and Smithhouse, Bob's VO at the beginning is completely justified in the context of the entire film - when I post the entire film (should be in a couple of weeks), you will understand. It's all there for a reason.

Lighting the opening scene - used 2 open faced 650watt lights gelled 1/2 CTB, and car brights used for fill.

Keep responding guys! Thanks.

Thanks. It is really close the color and amount of lighting I need for one of my night shoots. I have two 500watt lights and some 1/2 CTB gells. It is good to know they will come close to giving me what I need.

This looks great. The camera work, editing, and pace were all excellent. Like others, the problem I had was with the sound. The meat chewing in the intro was a bit over the top and didn't seem to be quite in synch with the mouth. During the chase, I think that by dropping the music down everytime they talk is just drawing attention to the mismatch of voice over work. Speaking of the music, I thought it worked nicely with the story. You have me wanting more. That's a great sign for the beginning of a film. Tweak it some, and post it when you're done. I'd love to see the whole twenty. Nice job!
