TOKYO SYNDROME - independent feature film IN PRODUCTION

Hey everyone, this one's been in the works for quite some time now - the first draft was finished last year. We let it sit around for a year while we obtained the resources to finally shoot it, and here we are now.

We're armed with an HVX200, Sgpro Rev. 3, and a million DIY items like handgrips, portable dvd monitor, etc. all thanks to everyone's knowledge here on DVXuser. :dankk2:

I wanted to start a thread because we begin principal photography in two weeks, and I will surely have questions about everything from technical to creative decisions. I also wanted to keep a journal of sorts of the production, like a lot of users here.

Here is the synopsis taken from our website at http://aluckymovie.com.

Synopsis:
Reuben hasn’t been out of his room since school ended months ago. He spends his remaining days of summer living in the 3D world of an online video game and working on his costume for the upcoming Anime convention. Natalie is the subject of an abduction case ever since being pronounced “Missing” three years ago. She mysteriously shows up at Reuben’s doorstep and begs him for shelter. The friendship that transpires inadvertently saves the two lost souls from certain loneliness…

It will be shot locally in Quincy, Boston, and Cambridge areas in Massachusetts. If anyone wants to lend a hand during the month of August, please let me know!

Thank you for your kind words. I'll update here when there's something worth mentioning, but right now I'm just doing a lot of prepwork and securing lcoations. We'd like to film at Logan International Airport, and we're trying to work around the $1,000,000 insurance policy...

Meanwhile, our DP blogs about our DIY gadgets as often as he can. Here's a featurette on using a Sony portable DVD player for use as an external monitor:

Look forward to more!
