Tokina Cine lens line?!

the 11-16 is the same optical formula, for the 16-28 they say only the front element is the same, all the other ones have been modified (but I won't believe it until they show me the difference in two nice lens diagrams)

Good catch but I think we'll need more affordable lenses like in the Samyang-class. It could be as simple as just a manual de-clicked aperture ring and hard stops on the focus.

LOL. Thought the exact same thing. Take out the expensive electronics and raise the price....

...really ! why would anyone pay 10x the price for these lenses ? The 11-16 is a great lens....and it cost $600. De-clicked apertures are redundant when you're using variable nd's anyway.

First, if you care about image quality, you shouldn't be using variable NDs...second, that's not quite a good comparison. The problem isn't a "de-clicked" aperture as much as a manual aperture. The Tokina is kind of a hassle to use on cameras that don't have a native EF/Nik G mount in any version.

Hi,

11-16 Cine lens looks interesting but is a bit overpriced (but still less than a Duclos mod, which no one will buy anymore after it's release). I have one EF mount version 2 but I probably got an average copy because I don't find it "that" sharp, at least on my FS700.

16-28 is WAAAAY overpriced and the range is not that useful, I think most will agree that it should at least go up to 50mm. That said, I'm curious to see this lens paired with a Speed Booster...
