MINT CONDITION Tokina AT-X Pro 20-35mm f/2.8 lens (Nikon mount). Perfect for medium wide angle zoom on Sony F3 (see photos) and Panasonic AF-100...
This lens does not extend while zooming or focusing (matte box friendly), it is all metal construction and very solid.
I used it for last 2 months on my F3, but ordered "a bit wider" and far more expensive Nikon 17-35, so this one gotta go...

In your opinion, how does the colour rendition of this Tokina compare to your Nikon 17-35mm? And, is the Tokina suitable to use with a follow focus?

Very good compared to Nikon... I did not shoot any "brick walls", but sharpness of Tokina was as good as NIKON. What I found strange is that Tokina kept better focus while zoomed than Nikon 17-35... I did sell 17-35 and got 17-55 (2.8 from Nikon) and that is a keeper!
Tokina is matte box and ff friendly...

I guess I can delete your kijiji ad for the Nikon in Riverdale then. ;-) I've had my eye on that, but looked at my finances – I just couldn't afford the $1350 you were asking. I'm looking for a good, no nonsense, wide angle zoom to go with my Voigtlander 25mm and Nikon 50mm. I don't know if 20mm is wide enough though.

(I'm in Toronto BTW)

I guess...I started with 20-35, than I wanted wider and went 17-35, than I wanted longer and got 17-55... Sounds crazy, is it? 17-35 went with in days on Kijiji, I just did not update the ad. Went for asking price. Now, I shoot almost 80% of the time with Nikon 17-55/2.8. I do love that lens. I don't mind keeping this 20-35 tokina as it goes nice with 28-70/2.8 I got first. If you don't mind switching lenses, 20-35 is a great starter. Next wider would be 11-16/2.8 (great cheap glass)... I just needed all around lens and red 17-50 is too expensive and 18-50 has too much issues to risk it buying a used one and service it regularly...As my work is TV related, and usually on budget I don't have a "camera department" following me, so making it as easy as possible (and not switch lenses all the time) on locations that are usually dirty, dusty, remote, foreign country.... I do go thru a lot of air-cans for cleaning, for sure.LOL...

hah... great story. you are uncompromising!

To be honest, It would be hard for me to pay $400 for the Tokina. I feel it's closer to $300 or $325. And, you have no lens hood or case.

I think I might rent the Nikon at Headshots if needed.

UPDATE: will you take $360 ? I can pick up at your place.
